Adaptive Physical Education

ACE offers special classes for students who qualify. To find out if you qualify, please make an appointment to meet with an ACE counselor.

Registration for special classes is only available in-person through the ACE office.

PE 105 AD Adapted Strength and Fitness

This is a physical fitness class consisting of cardiovascular conditioning, muscle strength, and endurance, as well as the proper use of weight machines, wheelchair accessible nautilus machines, and free weights in the fitness lab. The purpose of strength training is to improve an individual’s strength, stability, and coordination.

PE 108 AD Adapted Aquatics

This course has been designed for students with disabilities who can benefit from individualized low-and no-impact aquatic cardiovascular exercises. Students will learn safe and independent activities that can be done for cardiovascular fitness in the pool.

SP ED 002 AD Computer Tutor Lab for Reading

Located in the High Tech Lab, this course is designed to provide independent study opportunities for Accessibility Center for Education (ACE) students . This course is a self-paced lab to address individual needs in reading skills. Students can earn 0.5 or 1 unit of credit for completing the number of hours required.

SP ED 006 AD Computer Tutor Lab for Math

Located in the High Tech Lab, this course is designed to provide independent study opportunities for Accessibility Center for Education (ACE) students. This course is a self-paced lab to address individualized needs in math skills. Students can earn 0.5 or 1 unit of credit for completing the number of hours required.
