Golden West College Majors and Area of Emphasis

Major or Area of Emphasis Student Learning Outcome: Demonstrate skills, abilities, and knowledge in a particular area of aptitude or study.

Major or Area of Emphasis Requirements: Minimum of 18 units of study with all coursework for the Major or Area of Emphasis completed with a grade of “C” or better.

Major or Area of Emphasis Courses: See a GWC counselor for Major preparation courses for transfer to four-year university, or click on an area below for a listing of required courses for each Major or Area of Emphasis.

Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T) or (AS-T): Admission to a California State University (CSU) is guaranteed to any community college student who successfully completes an Associate in Arts Degree for Transfer (AA-T) or an Associate in Science Degree for Transfer (AS-T) These degrees are indented for students who plan to complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a CSU campus. Admission is guaranteed to the CSU system, but not to a particular CSU campus or major. Please see a GWC counselor to develop an educational plan to meet requirements for a particular campus.
