Welcome to Broadcast & Video Production @ GWC

The Broadcast Video Production program is undergoing an exciting transformation. The Recording Arts, Video Production, and Digital Arts programs are converging to form a new Digital Media program. The 2009-2010 academic year will be the last year that the existing certificates for the Broadcast Video Production program will be offered in their current form. This effort will include the updating of courses and articulating more of them with four-year transfer institutions.

ALERT: This program is currently under review. Be sure to see a GWC Counselor before beginning any new studies for a certificate in this program.

Television and video camera operators produce images that tell a story, inform or entertain an audience, or record an event. Film and video editors edit soundtracks, film, and video for cable and broadcast television industries. Camera operators use television, video, or motion cameras to shoot a wide range of subjects, including television series, studio programs, news and sporting events, music videos, documentaries, and training sessions. Many entry-level positions are support positions assisting in production, lighting, and directing.

The BVP program provides students with hands on industry based training. The BVP program assists students with acquiring internships, career counseling and job placement.
