WHAT IS AUTOMOTIVE COLLISION REPAIR? Thousands of motor vehicles are damaged in traffic accidents every day. These vehicles can be made to look and drive like new. Automotive body repairers work on everything from small dent removal to cutting and replacing welded body parts. Repairs are made on all types of vehicles but mostly on cars and small trucks. Automotive painters, or refinishers, are trained to perform very intricate, detailed work and mix paints to match the original color; a task that is especially difficult if the color has faded.
