WHAT IS COSMETOLOGY? Cosmetology is a professional career working with hair, nails, or skin in salons, retail, or the movie and film industry. Cosmetologists provide beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, and styling hair. Additionally, cosmetologists may give manicures, pedicures, and scalp and facial treatments. Manicurists work exclusively on nails and provide manicures, pedicures, coloring, and nail extensions. Estheticians cleanse and beautify the skin by giving facials, head and neck massages, and removing hair through waxing.
