General Information and Registration:

In collaboration with the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), Golden West College (GWC) is pleased to announce a Specialized Investigator Basic Course (SIBC) will be presented August 19 – December 12, 2013. (SIBC # 53)

GWC will not receive any FTES for presenting this course. In order to provide the opportunity for state agencies to select SIBC for their investigators, a “Contract Education” model adopted for Class 52 will again be utilized to present this course.

The registration cost for each participant is $5,968. It is important to note, in order to present the SIBC class at this cost, a minimum enrollment of 25 participants must be met; a shortfall could result in the class being cancelled. Additional costs for materials, equipment, uniforms and miscellaneous fees are spelled out in the following sections of this announcement. (Please see Section H for additional agency costs.)

GWC is in the pre-planning phase for SIBC Class 53. Dean Lowenberg of the Criminal Justice Training Center and the entire training team at GWC looks forward to presenting a high quality training experience. State and local agencies can be confident the SIBC # 53 will achieve exemplary results in staff development for the men and women serving the State of California or County as specialized investigators. Self-sponsors are encouraged to apply to prepare for future employment in a state or local agency.
