T’ai Chi/Qigong:
The Gift of Strength, Flexibility and Balance
This program is structured around the nine element movement sequence developed by T’ai Chi Master Tingsen Xu for the National Institute of Health. These elements have been shown to increase strength, flexibility, range of motion, and above all, balance. When laced together into a single T’ai Chi form, they create a beautifully flowing, easy-to-learn routine that not only improves overall health but restores harmony and balance to mind, body and spirit. Complementing this form is a series of Qigong elements, including the centuries old Eight Pieces of Brocade. Taught in a step-by-step fashion, this program is an excellent introduction to both T’ai Chi and Qigong. These graceful, easy-to-learn movements can be done by anyone regardless of age or physical condition. Wear comfortable clothing.

Meridian Exercise
Meridian exercise is a systematic series of exercises that help the mind and body to relax. Pulling and stretching motions of this exercise stimulates the meridian system of the body and facilitates the free flow of energy throughout the body. This exercise improves flexibility, messaging the internal organs, sending oxygen to all the body’s tissues, and enhancing state of serenity. Breathing deeply into certain postures affects the nervous and lymphatic system. It increases energy circulation and it improves strength. On a deeper level, it brings us into the present so that we fully receive what each moment has to offer and teach. This physical exercise aids the individual to recover his/her physical health as well as finding the spirituality within that leads to a successful person in the everyday world. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket, mat or towel.
