Student Commitments & Student Responsibilities to EOPS

Student Commitments to EOPS

Once students have been accepted into the EOPS program, their commitment to the program includes:

  • Attend three (3) EOPS counseling appointments each semester (Fall and Spring)
  • Enroll in 12 units/full-time or more with majority units at Golden West College (Exception: verified NextUp and/or DSPS students)
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress (Complete 50% of total units attempted annually with a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0)
  • Complete mid-semester EOPS Academic Progress Reports each semester
  • Complete a drop-in Peer Advisor Contact each semester

Once students meet the program requirements, they don’t have to fill out the application again. Eligibility for EOPS services may continue until the completion of 70 degree applicable units from all accredited college is reached. Students in high unit majors are permitted to participate in EOPS beyond 70 units.

Students who are unable to meet the program requirements due to special circumstances can appeal to be re-enrolled in the program.
