The Financial Aid Office at Golden West College strongly encourages students to apply for financial aid and use this website to navigate the various resources available to you as a current or prospective student at Golden West College.
The Financial Aid Office provides a number of important student services, which include:
- Providing information regarding the types of financial aid available
- Helping collect and complete all necessary financial aid forms and documents
- Providing guidance on student loans and debt management.

3. Complete your file. Always respond to any correspondence sent to you by the FA office.
The Financial Aid Office currently administers state and federal grants, loans, work-study, and GWC Foundation Scholarships annually for students at GWC. The most common types of financial aid that GWC students are eligible to receive include:
- Pell Grants — Federally funded grants for eligible undergraduate students;
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) — Federally funded grants for eligible undergraduate students (average GWC student award is $400 per year);
- Cal Grants — State-funded award for eligible students from disadvantaged backgrounds or low-income families who have exceptionally high financial need, to provide them assistance with enrollment fees, living expenses, books, supplies, and transportation;
- Board of Governors (BOG) Enrollment Fee Waivers — State-funded waivers of enrollment fees for eligible students;
- Federal Work-Study (FWS) funds — Federally funded program that provides wages to eligible students for both on-campus and off-campus employment;
- Loans (subsidized and unsubsidized) — Federally administered, low-interest loans to eligible students.
