Yvette Verastegui, JD
Yvette Verastegui, Los Angeles County alternate deputy public defender, was the commencement speaker in 2004. In addition to Yvette's outstanding work in law, she has been honored as Orange County Public Defender of the Year (1996-1997); recipient of the Prosser award in Family Law; and given the Francine Diaz award for Community Service. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Irvine and a juris doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall School of Law).
