Gregory M. Villegas
Standing on Solid Ground. Gregory M. Villegas is a tall monument in more ways than one, and that’s why Golden West College acknowledges his accomplishments in the field of architecture. Whether he’s designing buildings, spas and resorts, or custom homes, Gregory has truly managed to build up his architectural niche.
Gregory was awarded a Certificate of Achievement in architectural technology in December 1986. By fall 1987 he transferred to the College of Environmental Design at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. And four years later, Gregory’s perseverance and commitment to higher education paid offhe earned a bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) in architecture from the university. Upon graduating, he received the American Institute of Architects scholastic award: Certificate of Merit from the Henry Adams Fund for Excellence in the Study of Architecture.
Gregory’s work experience speaks solidly for itself. He has worked at John Bates and Associates, an architecture and land planning firm, in Laguna Niguel. He designed projects for such cities as Yorba Linda, La Mirada, and Sante Fe Springs. He is currently a project architect with Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo in Newport Beach. The firm is world renowned for designing hotel resorts, casinos, spas, and golf facilities. Gregory has provided leadership on such projects as the Portofino Hotel and Resort in Orlando, FL, MGM Pools and Spa in Las Vegas, NV, the Wild Horse Pass Resort and Golf Clubhouse in Phoenix, AZ, and most recently, the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa.
