About Dr. Paul Tayyar

Dr. Paul Tayyar Honors Director Director Bio: Paul Tayyar received his B.A. from U.C. Santa Barbara, his M.A. from California State University Long Beach, and his Ph.D. from U.C. Riverside. He has taught English for the past eight years at a variety of institutions, and in 2008 was hired as a tenure-track faculty member here at Golden West College. A poet who has twice been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, his books include: Everyday Magic (West-Coast Bias Press, 2007) and the forthcoming collections, Scenes From A Good Life (Tebot Bach, 2009) and Postmark Atlantis (Level 4, 2009). His poetry, fiction, and literary scholarship have appeared in a wide variety of publications, including The Santa Monica Review, Ibbetson St., Americana: The Journal of American Popular Culture, and Pegasus. In addition to his duties as Honors Director, he also teaches Composition, Critical Thinking, Great Myths and Legends, and Creative Writing. He is the Founder and Managing Director of World Parade Books, an independent press.
