Measure M Construction Update:
Student Services Project: Start of insulating interior and exterior walls. Heavy duty crane is scheduled to mobilize Wednesday 7/26 to lift air conditioning rooftop units. Ongoing installation of exterior windows. Ongoing 2nd floor rough end of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing installation. Ongoing exterior and interior framing. Continue hanging exterior dens glass. Ongoing installation of interior drywall. Ongoing installation of roof and elevator. Concrete pour scheduled Monday 7/24 and Thursday 7/27 for placement of new sidewalk. Concrete trucks will be entering the main construction access road. The main construction access road is the road between the Native Garden and Auto Tech all the way to Cosmetology. Miscellaneous material and deliveries is scheduled the week of 7/24. Please exercise caution around the construction equipment as they enter the campus and follow directions from the flagmen. Noise levels will be moderate due to large equipment for these activities. Summer work schedule will begin May 30th which entails: Pedestrian walkway along Cosmetology and Student Service project site will be temporary closed for placement of new sidewalk. East stairway to access 2nd floor Music will be closed the duration of summer for removal/replacement of new stairs and sidewalk. Pavement repair work along access road between Kaplan/Amphitheater and access road between the Bookstore/Humanities is scheduled to ensure path of travel is ADA compliant (See attached GWC map).
Criminal Justice Project: Ongoing installation of exterior sheet metal flashing. Ongoing installation of interior drywall. Ongoing site utility connections. Ongoing rough end of 2nd floor Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing installation. Installation of metal panels on top of CMU walls in parking lot G. Ongoing fine grading for curbs and sidewalk at south access road. Ongoing installation of underground utilities at Scenario Lab. Ongoing deliveries of miscellaneous material scheduled. Pedestrians and Drivers need to follow closure signs and be cautious as they travel around the construction site. Noise levels will be moderate due to the large equipment for these activities. Fencing for the dirt lot adjacent to Parking Lot G has been installed. The dirt lot will be closed for any public parking until the project is complete. Parking Lot H and partially Parking Lot I will be closed beginning Wednesday 7/5 for three weeks to trench/install underground water connection (See attached GWC Map for site impact). The access road between Theater and Criminal Justice project site will remain closed for underground utility connections and site hardscape work for ADA walkway improvement (See attached GWC Map for site impact, walkway closers, traffic lane closers and pedestrian access). Weeks of May 8th – August 4th fencing for the dirt lot adjacent to Parking Lot G will be moved and encroach on traffic lane to begin grading for pull over lane. The access road between parking lots G and H will be closed full time 7 days a week starting Monday 6/5/17 and reopened 7/28/17 (See attached GWC map).
Math/Science Project: Ongoing grading, over-excavation, and compaction of soil activities will continue. There will be large trucks entering and leaving the job site next week to import soil into the site. Noise level expected to be moderate due to large equipment for these activities. Please be cautious of construction traffic and follow safety directions from workers directing traffic. Please note that the parking lot sidewalk west of the project is closed for the duration of the project. A temporary pedestrian walkway has been created in the parking lot to accommodate all pedestrian traffic through this area.
