Dancing Through the Decades at the GWC Gala
Golden West College held its 12th annual Gala on March 20th, this year honoring Huntington Beach’s 100th birthday. Themed Dancing through the Decades in honor of the city’s centennial, this year’s gala festivities included silent and live auctions, and an elegant dinner. Over 320 guests danced through the decades to live music provided by Wayne Foster Entertainment. Guests celebrated the city’s centennial birthday with a cake, candles and a birthday song.
One of the evening’s highlights was the drawing of the winning ticket for the 2009 Toyota Prius, donated by Elmore Toyota in Westminster. David Lopez, President of the Associated Students and Homecoming King, drew winning ticket number 316, and Albert Gasparian, Dean of Athletics and Physical Education at Golden West College, and his wife, Patti, were the lucky winners. “It was a thrill of a lifetime and I really appreciate Judy Elmore and Elmore Toyota for supporting GWC students!” Gasparian commented. Only 500 tickets were available for the Prius drawing at $100 each.
