A Forum for Students, Educators, Researchers, Artists, and Community Leaders
Peace Renaissance
Creating Peace through Sustainability, Education, Nonviolence, Conscious Democracy, Health, and Artistic Creativity
The 2012 Peace Conference provides a unique forum for building a culture of peace through intellectual and experiential workshops and dialogues. Attendees will engage in conversations that ignite a shift in consciousness for creating a just, compassionate, and sustainable world:
- Cultivating a culture of giving & corporate social responsibility to end global poverty
- Transforming communities by building new relationships based on partnerships
- Re-envisioning architectural design and transportation for sustainable living
- Conscious living with food and local farming for ecological health
- Expanding human capabilities and inventiveness through education
- Awakening human dignity and preserving human rights through nonviolence
- Creating artistic expressions in service of peace through the visual arts and music
Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.
-Martin Luther King
This is a zero-waste event.
The 2012 Peace Conference is presented by the Golden West College Peace Studies Program, Honors Program, Recycling and Resource Management Program, Peace, Mind, and Body Club, Sustainability Club, Associated Students, and in partnership with UCI, CSU Fullerton, CSU Dominguez Hills, City of Huntington Beach, and OC Human Relations
