The 2012/2013 Online Scholarships

Online Applications NOW OPEN until Friday, March 8, 2013

The Online Scholarship application process is now open.
Please go to:

https://goldenwestcollege.academicworks.com

FOLLOW THESE STEPS FOR SUCCESS:

Scholarship Opportunities – The first page you will see is the list of the various scholarships that are available for Golden West College students. If you click on any of these “opportunities” it will provide you the deadline, description of the scholarship and supplemental questions that will be asked.  There are scholarships/awards that will ask  ‘Supplemental Questions’ if requested.

To Apply – “Sign In” to start the application process using your MyGWC Login and Password.  You will only be using one application for the entire process.

Your General Application

(Personal Information) – This is the information that you will be providing for the Scholarship Committee to read.  This is a working document that you can make changes to until the application deadline on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:59 p.m.  You will be able to review this application at any time, however once the deadline date passes no changes will be accepted.

There is a GRAY CHECK MARK on the left side of the application that will give you the status of your application.  Once the application is completed the CHECK MARK will change to GREEN.  The online application will let you know if your answers are incomplete and need modifications.

(Student Record) – This is information that has been retrieved from your Golden West College/District records.  If you believe any of this information is incorrect, please go to Admissions and Records.

Selection of Scholarship Recipients – Selection of recipients is completed by various committees on or off campus, and will take place between March and April.  The online scholarship information from both personal information and student records will be used to determine scholarship winners.  Scholarship recipients will be notified after mid-April.

PLEASE NOTE: A PERSONAL STATEMENTis one of the most important parts of a submission a student can provide. A well-written (preferably typed) one-page personal statement must be included with your application. Your personal statement is an important consideration during the selection process. Your statement should explain why you have chosen to attend college and what your future educational or career plans are. This document can be uploaded using a word processing document or PDF.  The Personal Statement is the only document that will need to be uploaded for the general application when using the Online Scholarship.
