Gardasil is a series of 3 shots over a 6 month period to protect you from the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). This prevents most cases of cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancer in women, and can prevent genital warts and anal and oralpharyngeal (back of the throat, tongue, tonsils) cancer in both males and females.
The Gardasil shot may be covered by insurance for females and males aged 9- 26. If you have insurance, please check with your insurance company about your benefits regarding HPV vaccines. In private doctor’s offices, if you pay cash, Gardasil can cost up to $300 for each doctor’s visit and injection. At the GWC Student Health Center, you may qualify for free Gardasil vaccines through the Merck Patient Assistance Program. If you do not qualify, you may wish to pay our at-cost cash price, which is $140.00
Many private physicians are willing to give the vaccination to people over the age of 26 at full price.
