What Type of Student are You?
First-Time College Student
You are a first time college student if this is your first time attending any college.
Concurrent Enrollment Student
Concurrent enrollment is for students who wish to attend Golden West College while being in grades 9-12. Concurrent enrollment students must submit an approved Special Part-time High School Release Form for 9th-12th Grade Students before registering for classes.
Dual Enrollment Student
Dual enrollment is for Huntington Beach Union High School District students. Dual enrollment students must Dual enrollment students must submit an approved Dual Enrollment Release Form for 9th-12th Grade Students before registering for classes.
You are a transfer student if you have attended another college, but have never attended Golden West College.
If you attended Golden West College in the past, but did not attend the previous semester, you are required to reapply in order to reactivate your academic record.
You are an international student if you are from a foreign country and currently have, or will apply for, F-1 student visa status. If you plan to enroll full-time at GWC, visit the International Student Program page for application instructions. Please note that an additional application is required for this program. Please visit the School of Nursing website to obtain detailed information.
After submitting your online application, you will receive a confirmation email immediately (sent to the email address you provided on your application.) A welcome email from the college will arrive approximately 1 – 2 business days later. The welcome email will provide your student ID number, MyGWC login information, and instructions on what your next steps are.

Please make sure that the email address you provide is correct so that you receive confirmation of your application and instructions as to what you need to do to complete the admissions process.
Some Internet Service Providers filter mail from Golden West College and the Coast Community College District, so please check your spam/trash folder if you don’t receive an email response within 3-5 business days from the date of submission. You can avoid this by adding GWCAdmissions@cccd.edu and GWCAdmissions@gwc.cccd.edu to your approved sender’s list. This is especially important if you use providers such as Yahoo, Gmail, Roadrunner, AOL, Earthlink or Hotmail and/or you use spam filters.
