Issues with Zoom and MyGWC
Dear GWC Student,
I hope your fall semester is off to a great start! We’ve resolved the MyGWC issues and Zoom is fully functional. I’ve compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) we’ve received via email and the GWC App. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to ask! The entire Student Services Team is available to assist you!
How do I add a class with an Add Code?
Students must add the class with an add code prior to Census. This date is found on your Student Class Program/Web Schedule Bill in the Student tab of MyGWC.

How do I drop a class with a Refund?
Students must officially withdraw from classes by the refund deadline. Refer to the Student Class Program/Web Schedule Bill on the Student tab of the MyGWC portal page. It is the student’s responsibility to officially withdraw from classes and to verify all withdrawals.
Important! If you are planning to replace your course with another course, add the new course before dropping the existing class. Follow the step-by-step guide.
How do I attend/join a class that I’m waitlisted for?
Once the class has started the waitlist becomes inactive. Students will need to contact their instructor to request an add code. Here is the link to the faculty directory: https://www.goldenwestcollege.edu/about/faculty-directory/
How do I see when my class starts?
All of the important information you need to know about how your classes are being offered, when they are being offered, and your professor’s emails are found on your Student Class Program:
- Log into MyGWC
- Click on the Registration tab on the left-hand side
- Find Other Student Resources
- Click on Student Class Program
- Select term (FALL 2020)
How can I get into Canvas if the MyCoast portal is down or not loading quickly?
You may log into Canvas directly: http://canvas.cccd.edu or through GWC Mobile app.
How do I get a student ID?
The process is currently being finalized. New students will receive an email/text regarding obtaining a GWC Student ID Card from Enrollment Services in the next couple of weeks.
How do I get my free OC bus pass?
Download the OC Bus App to your mobile smartphone and register your account using your GWC e-mail (@student.cccd.edu). Your free OC Bs Pass will appear on Monday, August 24, 2020 (the first day of fall classes). It will appear under “My Tickets” and then you will click “activate.” That OC Bus Pass will be active from August 24 to December 31, 2020. When you enroll in spring 2021 classes, your OC Bus Pass will automatically renew on the OC Bus App.

Is the bookstore open?
Not at this time. Students can order books online. Shipping is free!
How do I request a Chromebook loan?
Complete this request form by Thursdays at 5:00 pm to pick-up the Chromebook Tuesday mornings.
How do I receive food resources?
Produce, protein, and dairy boxes are available weekly. Complete this request form and select your options.
