Dreamer Student Emergency Aid Grant
The State of California has provided limited funds to provide AB-540, or DACA students with emergency funding to help these students afford to stay in school. This is a state grant and does not need to be paid back. To request emergency funding, you must meet the eligibility requirements below:
1) Student has urgent need for funds to relieve emergency situation
a. For Example: medical, unexpected car maintenance (not including regular maintenance), housing emergencies or other extenuating circumstances.
2) Actively enrolled in at least 3 units at Golden West College
3) Residency Status is noted as AB-540 or DACA with the GWC Enrollment Center
4) The GWC Financial Aid Office has received a valid 2017-2018 California Dream Act Application
a. NOTE: U.S. citizens, and eligible non-citizens who qualify for non-resident tuition waiver under AB-540 are excluded from receiving any emergency funds from this program
