Welcome! We are excited for you to start the semester at GWC!

Start here, we have put together a GWC Student Success Guide [PDF] to help with your success.

Also, please keep these steps below in mind for a successful start of the semester. We recommend to read all of the steps but by using menu you may jump to the info that you need first:

1. VERIFY COURSES:
Your Student Class Program (Web Schedule Bill) in MyGWC is your proof that you registered and paid your fees. It also includes information about your class meeting time and location as well as important deadline dates for each class. Access it by clicking on the "Registration" tab, then clicking the link under "Registration Tools".

2. ACCESS YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL:
Email communications from the college and your instructors will go to your Coast District email account, which is accessible through your MyGWC student portal. Check your email account frequently.

3. ACCESSING ONLINE CLASSES:
Your courses will appear in Canvas on the course start date, at which time you will be able to access course-specific instructions, materials, and communications from your faculty. Access Canvas from the college's main website or by logging on to your MyGWC student portal then clicking on "Canvas/Online Learning System". You can also now use the GWC App to access most portions of your Canvas course!

4. ATTENDANCE:
Students are expected to attend classes regularly. Students who miss the first class meeting, are absent for two contiguous class meeting or have too many absences MAY be dropped by the Instructor at any time during the semester until the final deadline for withdrawal.

NOTE: It is the responsibility of the student to withdraw in order to meet all fee/refund deadlines and it is also the responsibility of the student to withdraw by state mandated deadlines to avoid grade penalties.
