STEP 1 - APPLY FOR ADMISSION

3 Ways to Apply:

  1. APPLY ONLINE

    OR

  2. Download application, print and mail to:

    Huntington Beach, CA 92647-2710

    OR

  3. Apply in-person in the Admissions and Records Office


You will receive your registration information via email and mail:

  • Student ID Number
  • Registration appointment date and time
  • MyGWC login information (username, password, email account, and instructions)

NOTE: If you do not receive your registration information within 14 days after applying for admission, please contact the Admissions & Records Office: (714) 895-8306.

STEP 2 - ASSESSMENT

Assessment involves taking placement tests in English, reading and mathematics. It is NOT a "pass or fail" test. It is a measure of your English and math skills to help you pick the right courses for you.

Assessment is recommended for all students and REQUIRED for new students prior to course registration. It may also be used to meet prerequisites for certain courses.(see exemptions)

Placement tests are made by appointment in the Assessment Center.

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR PLACEMENT TESTS

STEP 3 - ORIENTATION

New students are required to attend an orientation/advisement session at GWC prior to course registration. (see exemptions)

The session is conducted by a counselor in a group setting to assist students with the development of a first semester Student Educational Plan (SEP) and to familiarize students with the programs and support services available at the college.

STEP 4 - REGISTRATION

Register for classes ON or AFTER your registration appointment date and time. Please read: Things to know before you register.

2 Ways to Register

  1. Register online at mygwc.com (pdf instructions)
    Computers are available for use in the Admissions Office.

  2. Register by touch-tone telephone.

Students who are too late for priority online or telephone registration may register in person in the Admissions Office the week before classes begin (August 18 - 22)
