What is C.A.R.E.? - Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education The C.A.R.E. Program is designed to assist the single parent receiving public assistance (TANF/CalWORKs). As a single parent supporting a family with the help of TANF or CalWORKs, we realize that you may feel overwhelmed with the thought of balancing the responsibilities of an education and family needs. The C.A.R.E. Program can help qualified students balance these needs with financial assistance and extra support services.

It is our commitment to provide C.A.R.E. students with the needed support to succeed at Golden West College. In order to help the student succeed we provide financial assistance and support services. It is our goal to help you succeed.
Qualifications for C.A.R.E.
Be 18 years old and single, head of household status
Be a TANF recipient
Have at least one child (13 years old or younger)
Be EOP/S eligible
Be enrolled full-time at Golden West College
Eligibility requirements for EOP/S
Be a California resident
Be enrolled full-time when accepted into the EOP/S Program
Have not completed more than 70 units of degree applicable credit course work in any combination of post-secondary institutions
Qualify to receive a Board of Governor’s Grant B
Meet established EOP/S criteria
