What is MESA?

The MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) program serves first-generation, low-income students who seek to transfer to four-year universities to earn calculus-based STEM bachelor's degrees.

MESA at Golden West College provides academic, community, transfer, professional/career and other supports for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) students so they can transfer to four-year institutions as majors in these fields. Through the program, students develop academic and leadership skills, increase educational performance, and gain confidence in both their academic and professional abilities.

We offer tons of resources to STEM major students. Each year our students will earn scholarships, place in internships, and a cohort of students will transfer to a four-year university in a STEM Major!

Spring 2024 Recruitment Information:

MESA is actively taking applications from current GWC students and incoming high school seniors.  Students are encouraged to apply to the program now; applications are currently being reviewed on an ongoing basis for acceptance in Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 semesters.
