Umoja Community

What is Umoja?

Umoja, (a Kiswahili word meaning unity) is a community and critical resource dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African American and other students.

Umoja is a national foundation with regional consortiums. We are a learning community, and our goal is to help uplift our Black student voices and provide pathways to graduation and transfer to HBCUs, UCs, and CSUs.

We provide various services to help enrich our student’s college experience such as:

  • Academic and career counseling
  • Workshops
  • Supplies
  • Scholarships
  • Mentors
  • Networking opportunities
and so much more!

Join us… Join the community!

If you are interested in joining Umoja please complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the form to sign up
  2. Complete the official Umoja application
  3. Email us so we can set up a meeting to see how we can help you succeed on and off campus!
