Faculty Excellence Awards

Purpose:

The purpose of the Faculty Excellence Awards is to recognize the extraordinary contributions and quality service of full and part-time faculty members supporting the mission of Golden West College. Each month a designated constituency will have the opportunity to honor faculty who are committed to excellence in the areas of faculty performance:

  • Teaching and Learning
  • Student Success
  • Innovation and Research
  • Leadership and Service
  • Active promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion

Eligibility:

  • Current full and part-time Golden West College Faculty Members, Counselors, and Librarians 
  • Has not received an award in that category in the past two years. Refer below for a list of previous nominees. (For example, recipients of a past ESLA award cannot be nominated again for an ESLA in a two-year time period).

Who can submit a nomination:

  • The designated nomination group for that month. The nomination form is distributing to the nominating groups via email.

Procedure:

Monthly nominations will be collected as follows:

September Peer Excellence in Teaching Faculty (full and part-time)
October ELSA (Excellence in Leadership & Service) Deans, Department Chairs, Managers, & Classfied Professionals
November General ASGWC - students
December Final GWC Teacher of the Year The final winner will be selected from these monthly Faculty Excellence Award recipients
