Bicycle Thefts

In an effort to respond to bicycle thefts on campus, Public Safety is working with others to place new bicycle racks at several location on the interior of the campus. We are working closely with student representatives to identify convenient and safe locations. However, it is still critical that you take appropriate steps to protect your property.

If you bring a bicycle onto campus, please be sure to do the following:

  • Record the serial number/model/make/color of your bike, store the information in your phone and at home.
  • Take photos of your bike.
  • Invest in at least one quality bike lock (U-Lock, 3/8 hex or quad chain, heavy padlock). Cables and many chain locks can easily be compromised or cut.
  • Lock and secure your bike at all times when not in use.

Golden West College is fortunate to be located in one of the safest cities in the country.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation perennially lists the City of Huntington Beach as one of the top 100 safest large cities in the United States.
