The Academic Success Center hires Peer Tutors, Embedded Tutors, PASS Leaders, and front desk staff for the fall and spring semesters. See the details below to learn about each position and how to apply.
Peer Tutors help students grasp challenging concepts, build foundational skills, and refine study strategies through individual tutoring appointments, drop-in tutoring sessions, and open assistance labs in the Academic Success Center.
Embedded Tutors are placed in specific classes with the aim of boosting student learning, achievement, and retention within those courses. Embedded Tutors support students by assisting with in-class activities, providing individual and small group tutoring, leading study sessions, and other support services.
PASS Leaders encourage student learning by modeling successful student behaviors in class and coordinating weekly interactive group study sessions outside of class. Using course readings and notes taken in class, the PASS Leader creates and holds weekly study sessions to enhance understanding, prepare students for exams, and encourage effective study techniques.
Front desk staff greet students, check them into our services, answer telephones, represent the ASC at campus events, and more. If you excel at customer service, this may be a great position for you.
