Construction Update for Week Beginning 10/12/20

Language Arts Complex - Measure M:
Construction activity continues in the old CJ area to prepare swing space for necessary relocations due to upcoming demolitions. Construction vehicles will enter from parking lot F. Please exercise caution and avoid these areas on campus. The noise level is expected to be moderate due to large equipment for these activities. Classroom Improvements - Measure M:
The summer mod to upgrade AV/IT equipment in select classrooms across campus continues. Delivery and installation vehicles will be on campus. The noise level is expected to be low for these activities. Music Restoration Project- Campus: Restoration work continues in select rooms in the Music bldg. Construction vehicles will be entering and exiting campus via parking lot I and the service road between the Amphitheater and Kaplan. Please exercise caution and avoid these areas on campus. The noise level is expected to be moderate due to large equipment for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work areas and construction vehicle routes)

Auto Technology Sidewalk Replacement Project - Campus:
Sidewalk demolition and paint prep for the exterior walls at Auto Tech will proceed this week. Construction vehicles will enter and exit campus via parking lots A and B. The roadway in parking lot B along the Auto Technology building will be closed to through traffic and pedestrians. Please be mindful of detours in these areas. The pedestrian walkway will be accessible between Auto Technology and Native Garden, and the driveway between Auto Technology and Tennis Courts will be accessible for Smog Referee Operation. The noise level will be moderate due to large trucks and equipment for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work areas and construction vehicle routes)

Kaplan Decommission Project - Campus:
The Kaplan International Languages Trailers and adjacent concrete flatwork on the east side of Campus are being removed. Construction vehicles will be hauling away the trailers and debris through Parking lot I and the entrance at Gothard St. and Center Ave. Please avoid these areas and mind construction traffic. The noise level will be moderate due to large trucks and equipment for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work areas and construction vehicle routes)
