Construction Update for Week Beginning: 11/2/20

Language Arts Complex - Measure M:
Finishing work on the exterior of the new IT offices at the Old CJ bldg. will take place on Thursday and Friday. Surplus furniture will be removed from the Health Science bldg. in preparation for abatement and demolition. Trucks will be on campus Wednesday and Thursday to retrieve the surplus items. The noise level is expected to be low for these activities.

Classroom Improvements - Measure M:
The summer mod to upgrade AV/IT equipment in select classrooms across campus continues with follow-up patch & paint and carpet installation. Delivery and installation vehicles will be on campus. The noise level is expected to be low for these activities.

Music Restoration Project - Campus:
Restoration work has been completed in the Music bldg. and the punch walk will take place this week to identify any remaining items to be addressed.

Auto Technology Sidewalk Replacement Project - Campus: Setting the formwork and rebar for the sidewalk. Concrete pour for the curb is scheduled for this week. Paint prep for the exterior walls at Auto Tech continue. Construction vehicles will enter and exit campus via parking lots A and B. The roadway in parking lot B along the Auto Technology building will be closed to through traffic and pedestrians. Please be mindful of detours in these areas. The pedestrian walkway will be accessible between Auto Technology and Native Garden, and the driveway between Auto Technology and Tennis Courts will be accessible for Smog Referee Operation. The noise level will be moderate due to large trucks and equipment for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work areas and construction vehicle routes)

Kaplan Decommission Project - Campus:
Kaplan International Trailers have been removed. Landscape renovation is underway between the Community Theater and Parking Lot I on the east side of Campus where the trailers had been located. Ongoing grading of site. Landscaping contractor is scheduled to start this week. Please avoid this area and mind the barriers. The noise level will be low for these activities.
