Worker’s Compensation

In case of a work injury:

  1. For serious injuries, call 911.
  2. For all other injuries, immediately report the injury to your supervisor. If your supervisor is not available, report the injury to another supervisor in the area or the GWC Human Resources department.
  3. Obtain a signed treatment authorization slip from Human Resources (District Worker’s Comp workerscomp@cccd.edu or Alyssa Brown abrown275@cccd.edu).
  4. Proceed immediately to an authorized medical clinic, as noted below.
  5. Complete all necessary paperwork and stay in regular contact with Human Resources staff.
  6. The supervisor will be contacted to complete a Supervisor’s Report of Injury.

Reporting a workplace injury/incident ensures there is a record on file with the employer. Filing of an incident report is not filing a workers’ compensation claim. Employees retain the right to file a worker’s compensation claim at a later date.
