To apply for the CNA Examination with the Regional Testing Center, individuals must first submit an online application by clicking on the button above “Apply for CNA Exam Here”. An individual must answer the first CDPH requirement question in order to proceed with the rest of the application. During the application process, an individual will need to upload the following three documents:
or CNA Competency Evaluation Approval letter (CDPH 932 Form)
All these documents must have the same first and last name(s) as listed on the application. If the name(s) do not match the application and all required documents, RTC will not approve the application. |

After completing the online RTC CNA Examination Application, acknowledging the terms of RTC with an electronic signature, uploading of all required documents (listed above), and successfully submitting the RTC CNA Examination Application, an individual will receive an RTC CNA Examination application received email. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, typically within 3-4 business days (not including weekends or holidays). ADA Accommodation applications may take up to 30 days to be reviewed. Sign Language Interpreter request may take up to 60 days. DO NOT submit another RTC application while one is under review (or if the application was denied) as doing so can significantly further delay the review process. |
|
⇒ |
If it has been more than 5 business days (not including weekends or holidays) since submitting the RTC CNA Examination application or more than 30 days after submitting an ADA Accommodation application and you never received an email that it was received, approved or denied, then you may call RTC regarding the status of your application. Calling RTC prior to 5 business days (or 30 days for an ADA Accommodation) after submitting an application or correction form does not expedite the review or approval process as applications/correction forms are reviewed in the order they have been received. |
|
⇒ |
If an RTC CNA Examination Application is denied (not approved), an individual will receive an email (typically within 3-4 days business days of submitting the application), informing them that their application was denied. Included in the denied application email is specific details regarding the denial and next steps to correct it including a correction form link (expires within 10 days) to update and/or upload requested documentation. If the correction link has expired, an individual may contact RTC to resend an updated link. Once corrections have been updated and successfully submitted by the individual, the correction form will be reviewed in the order it was received, typically within 3-4 business days. DO NOT submit another RTC application while one is under review (or if the application was denied) as doing so can significantly further delay the review process. |
|
⇒ |
Once your RTC CNA Examination Application has been approved, an individual will receive an email regarding their RTC CNA application being approved with next steps to activate their new RTC account. An individual may log into their RTC account to view a list of upcoming exam dates and times, register/schedule an available exam date and time, cancel their CNA exam if more than 4 days (96 hours+) of the scheduled exam date and time, reschedule a cancelled exam that was issued an exam credit, review their CNA exam scores/results (once posted to their account within 3-4 business days) and information regarding CDPH Certificate Issuance next steps. Please keep in mind that RTC does not register individuals for the CNA exam. |
|
⇒ |
An individual is responsible for registering/scheduling their CNA exam once their application has been approved and they have activated their RTC CNA Login (account). Prior to registering/scheduling the CNA exam, please read RTC’s instructions and no refunds, non-transferable and cancellation policy. Upon successful registration for the CNA exam, an individual will receive a CNA exam confirmation email with exam date details including next steps after taking the exam and information on how to cancel the exam prior to 4 days (96+) hours. Please keep in mind that RTC will not be able to register or cancel the CNA exam for an individual as it is the responsibility of the individual to do so in their RTC Account. |
