Welcome GWC Faculty!

Please see the drop downs below for information relating to Faculty and the Tutoring and Learning Center.

Referring a student for academic support is easy! Just follow these steps:

Visit our online scheduling system: Accudemia.
Log in using your MyGWC credentials.
Under the Referrals section, click the New Referral button.
Complete the form and click the Save Changes button.

You can decide which resources are appropriate for the student or you can leave it to us. You can also decide whether the student receives a copy of the referral. Either way, the Tutoring and Learning Center will reach out to the student to connect them with the appropriate services. The TLC will attempt to reach out to the student three times before closing the case.

Apply for an Embedded Tutor

The Embedded Tutoring Program at GWC places tutors in a variety of classes to help increase student learning, retention, and success. Embedded tutors work in and/or outside the classroom under the instructor's guidance to help students understand course concepts and enhance student engagement. To request an embedded tutor for your Fall 2025 class, you must complete the online application by May 18, 2025. Late applications will only be considered in the rare case that ET assignments remain after considering applications and priority courses.

Tutor Recommendations & Hiring

The Tutoring and Learning Center hires tutors on a continuous basis before the fall and spring semesters. If you have a student you think would make a good tutor, please encourage them to apply! The tutor application is accessible from our website under "Join Our Team" during our recruitment periods.

All tutors are recommended by faculty and trained according to the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certification standards.
