Construction Update for Week Beginning: 9/12/22

Language Arts Complex - Measure M:
Construction activity continues this week with roof installation, interior framing, and installation of exterior drywall on the west building. Expect a large delivery of exterior sheathing via flatbed trailer mid-week. Trucks enter and exit off of Goldenwest Street and move through the barricaded area in Parking Lot C, accessing the construction site via the construction gate between the Math & Science bldg. and the LRC. Please mind flagmen and parking lot barricades, and avoid these areas. There is no parking within the barricades. Roads and walkways within any fenced off construction area are not accessible to pedestrian traffic; please use alternate routes to get around Campus. Exercise caution around construction vehicles and areas surrounding the construction site. Noise level will be moderate for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work areas and construction vehicle routes)

Clean-out of Gen-Ed Bldg - Measure M / Campus:
Clean-out of the unused Gen-Ed Building is underway requiring a large bin which has been placed at the south side of GenEd, east of the LRC. While the bin is in place, there is public access from the LRC and through the small tunnel into the courtyard behind the bookstore; please exercise caution around the bin. Removal of the bin is scheduled this Wednesday, Sept. 14 (subject to change), requiring a truck to enter campus at the LRC to retrieve the bin. There will be no public access from the LRC through the tunnel to the Bookstore during the bin removal. During this short time, please mind flagmen and access campus at the Math & Science bldg. or at the entrance between Automotive and the Native Garden. (See attached map [PDF] for bin location and truck route)

Site Restoration Project - Campus:
Restoration of the demolition site from the old KOCE building is in progress. The site, which is located on the east side of campus between the Amphitheater and Fine Arts, north of Forum 2, will remain fenced off with no public access within the fence. (See attached map [PDF] for work area)
