Construction Update for Week Beginning: 2/27/23

Language Arts Complex - Measure M:
Construction activity continues with interior painting, ceiling T-bar and lighting installation, and wall tile, casework, and flooring installation. Exterior finishing continues with porcelain tile, terra cotta, and metal panel installation. The building was successfully connected to campus power, and work in manholes in front of the Bookstore and in the area behind the Bookstore will continue intermittently this week. Please mind the barricades around open manholes and use caution in these areas. Portions of Parking Lot C remain barricaded for construction traffic; there is no parking within the barricades. Please watch for and obey the flagmen in this area. Roads and walkways within fenced off construction areas are not accessible to pedestrian traffic; please use alternate routes to get around Campus. Exercise caution around construction vehicles and areas surrounding the construction site. Noise level will be low for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work areas and construction vehicle routes)

Site Restoration Project - Campus:
Restoration of the demolition site from the old KOCE building is in progress. The site, which is located on the east side of campus between the Amphitheater and Fine Arts, north of Forum 2, will remain fenced off with no public access within the fence. (See attached map [PDF] for work area)

Campus Wi-Fi Project:
Wireless Access Points are being upgraded throughout campus affecting parking lots F and G off of Edinger this week. Crews will utilize bore rigs to bore into the ground for access to underground wires in order to connect additional antennas to the campus Wi-Fi. Boring contractors will delineate the work areas with cones; parking is allowed in these parking lots, but outside of coned off areas. Please use caution around construction vehicles and equipment, and avoid coned off areas. (See attached map [PDF] for work area)

Pool Replastering Project - Campus:
The replastering of the swimming pools on campus has been completed.
