Special Programs

GWC RISE (Resources for Immigrant Student Equity)

Students are eligible to receive up to $150 a month in grocery store gift cards to support with food security.

Eligibility:

  • Must have completed a California Dream Act Application (CADAA)
  • Meet with an academic counselor once per semester
  • Must have an updated Student Educational Plan on file
  • Must attend quick case management session with Dream Success Program Coordinator once a month

Dreamer Service Scholars

Students are eligible to receive $5,000 per semester in exchange for completing community service hours addressing food insecurity. Students are eligible to receive $550 per month in a living stipend for 5 months and a $2,250 check as an educational award. Completion of the program for both Fall and Spring semester can allow students to receive $10,000 per year.

Eligibility:

  • Must have completed a California Dream Act Application (CADAA) and approved for a Cal Grant
  • Must complete 200 hours of service within one semester.
