The English as a Second Language (ESL) academic English program at Golden West College will help you improve your communication skills needed to earn an associate degree and/or transfer to a university of your choice.

Golden West College offers ESL courses at multiple levels to help develop and improve your English abilities in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. You can apply these skills to earning a college degree, advancing in your job or career, or succeeding in other goals.
Students from all ages, cultures, and educational backgrounds enroll in our classes in order to improve their English to accomplish their own goals.
We serve multilingual students, non-native speakers, long-term residents, and international students who need instruction in the English language.
Our mission is to foster language learning for all English language learners (including immigrants, refugees, native-born, and international) across the campus, and to prepare them to express themselves effectively, gain further education, succeed in the workplace, and contribute effectively to our communities. We imagine a campus and community that is enriched by the unique voices of its English language learners.
