ID.me

About ID.me

CCCApply has implemented ID.me as part of the online application. ID.me provides a trusted pathway for students to securely verify their identity in accordance with federal standards.

ID.me now requires students to use a live camera to capture a government-issued photo ID. Photo uploads, screenshots, and scans are no longer accepted.

Accepted IDs include driver’s licenses, state IDs, passports, passport cards, and federally recognized Tribal-issued photo IDs.

Best if you:

  • Could not confirm your identity using CA DMV Wallet
  • Do not have access to a mobile device
  • Live outside of California

Trusted by Government Agencies

ID.me uses the same identity verification and fraud reduction technology currently in place across 37 state agencies and 15 federal agencies, including:

  • California Employment Development Department
  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
  • U.S. Internal Revenue Service
  • U.S. Social Security Administration

Benefits to Students

  • Protects student identities
  • Streamlines enrollment and financial aid disbursements
  • Helps prevent bad actors from stealing seats in classes
  • Access to student discounts
