Huntington Beach, Calif. — Golden West College (GWC) has signed a new agreement with Arizona State University (ASU) Online that expands transfer opportunities and reduces tuition costs for students pursuing four-year degrees.
The agreement builds on the existing MyPath2ASU program, launched in 2022 to simplify and guarantee the transfer process for California community college students. Through the expanded partnership, GWC students will benefit from ASU’s California Access and Completion Commitment, which is designed to create affordable four-year degree pathways that align with ASU’s mission of access, student success, and the public good.
As part of the partnership, GWC students who transfer to ASU Online through the California Community College Achievement Plan and meet eligibility criteria — including a minimum of 30 credits and a minimum 2.5 GPA — will qualify for a special tuition rate of $130 per credit hour, representing a 22% savings. There are no income requirements to receive the tuition reduction.
“This partnership gives GWC students an affordable and flexible pathway to earn their bachelor’s degree through ASU Online. Many of our students are seeking quality education that fits their lives, and I’m excited to see how this agreement will help them achieve their goals,” said Michael Tran, GWC counselor and Transfer Center coordinator.
ASU Online, which currently enrolls more than 107,000 students in nearly 400 programs, offers approximately 200 undergraduate degrees aligned with California transfer pathways. California students already make up 20–25% of ASU Online’s student body, making ASU the second-highest producer of online undergraduate completions in California.
“Golden West College is committed to creating affordable and accessible transfer pathways for our students,” added Meridith Randall, President of GWC. “This partnership with ASU Online ensures that our students can continue their education without barriers and with the confidence that they are receiving a high-quality degree.”
