Huntington Beach, Calif. — Baseball, friendship, secrets, and a clubhouse turned upside down take center stage when the Golden West College Theater Arts Department presents Richard Greenberg’s award-winning Take Me Out, directed by Martie Ramm, October 9–18 in the GWC Mainstage Theater.
Set inside the high-stakes world of Major League Baseball, Take Me Out follows superstar center fielder Darren Lemming, whose decision to publicly come out as gay sends shockwaves through his championship team. What follows is a funny, provocative, and deeply human story about friendship, prejudice, masculinity, loyalty, and the courage it takes to be yourself.
The production features an 11-member cast, led by Samuel Hanke as Darren, Ian Pedersen as Kippy, and William Dawley as Mason, with featured performances by Daniel Forrest, Maximus Dorsey, Robert White, and Syrhaan Albuquerque.
